Yes, in Indonesia if parents can't afford the medical service of child birth then there is a possibility that the baby will be taken by the hospital.
In 2010, approximately 36 reports of baby hostage-taken by hospitals, clinics and private midwives.
If a child is held hostage by the clinic the debt is increased everyday to look after the baby. The baby is kept as a deposit until full money is received by the parent.
If the money can't be paid by the parent then the child will become the property of the hospital therefore there are chances the baby can be sold to anyone.
